Paving a new path toward recovery,

Our team is aiming to eliminate the consequences of traditional IV poles, which restrict mobility, hinder independence, and prolong recovery for pediatric patients. Our breakthrough solution, IV Bot, is a hands-free robotic IV pole designed with the needs of children and nurses in mind.

The Problem

For Patients:
  • IV poles are heavy and extremely hard to maneuver for children as they walk or crawl, leaving many children dependent on a nurse or parent to move
  • IV lines are easily ripped out of patients which can cause pain or infection


  • For Nurses:
  • IV pole bases are wide and take up valuable space in crowded patient rooms
  • IV poles lack storage for other medical equipment and personal belongings
  • It is difficult to push both the pole and patient's bed during transport

    Our Solution

    The IV Bot is the first of its kind. Pediatric patients have a hands-free experience, while parents and nurses no longer need to maneuver heavy and awkward equipment for them. The IV Bot looks similar to a standard IV pole from the top, but the base is where the magic lies. In order to create a hands-free experience, the IV Bot base uses bluetooth and GPS technology to track and follow pediatric patients.

    Our array of sensors allow the IV Bot to intelligently follow the patient’s location in real time

    Mecanum Wheels

    These wheels help the IV Bot move precisely and swiftly in any direction necessary to follow the patient at a safe and comfortable distance

    Storage Compartment

    Nurses are able to use the built-in storage to hold equipment like external pacemakers, chest tubes, or even simply the child’s toys

    Adjustable Height and Narrow Base

    IV Bot has all the height options of a standard IV pole, but with a smaller footprint, meaning the IV Bot takes up less space in crowded hospital rooms
